How the heart places your memories
This poster does not plot a country and bend your cities toward its center. Instead, each place you add is given a numbered seat on a heart drawn by the classic parametric curve x equals sixteen sine cubed of t and y equals thirteen cosine t minus five cosine two t minus two cosine three t minus cosine four t. As t runs from zero to two pi, that formula traces the familiar two-lobed silhouette once, beginning at the little dip at the top, sweeping around the right lobe, rounding the pointed tip at the bottom and climbing back up the left. Your places are positioned at equal intervals along that complete journey, so a two-place poster balances the two lobes like mirror images, while a five-place poster traces the full outline in order.
The heart itself is drawn as a fine dashed line, and over it each location receives a filled circular marker with its sequence number set inside the disc. A short leader tick reaches outward from every marker to the place name, which is set in a small serif caption and alternates its side so that nearby labels never collide. Add between two and five places: where you met, the first apartment, the wedding city, a holiday coast, the hospital door. Every entry takes a name and an optional pair of coordinates — pick a city to fill them or type your own — although the layout is driven by the heart, not by geography.
Because marker positions come from a pure equation rather than from random scatter, the composition is stable by construction: reopen the page next year with the same list and every dot, tick and word lands exactly where it was. Three color themes set the mood — Midnight with gilded markers on deep navy, a monochrome Noir press, and Blush with rose-pink on wine red — and your own title, such as “Places Our Love Has Been”, and a subtitle sit above the figure.
Print-ready and private
The preview canvas is 1200 logical pixels square; on download the complete poster is vector-repainted at 300 dots per inch in the print size you select, including the twelve-inch square and the larger portrait sheets. Names, numbers and every dash of the heart are recalculated at print resolution, so the PNG enlarges without soft edges. Nothing is uploaded — the place names and coordinates exist only in your browser until you save the file.

Are the places shown in their real geographic position?
No — this is a heart map, not a world map. The coordinates only identify and store the places; the artwork positions them on the heart curve by their order, so the composition always looks balanced. If you want a geographically true route with a measured distance, use the travel route poster or the distance calculator instead.

What happens if I add or remove a place?
The remaining places are redistributed evenly along the heart and renumbered from one, so the figure never bunches up. You can keep between two and five entries; the add button hides itself at five. The list order is your story order — first meeting first, newest journey last, or any order that reads like yours.

Will it print sharply as a square gift?
Yes. Choose the 12-inch square size for a classic framed heart, or A4 and A3 for a card insert. Download repaints all geometry and type at 300 DPI rather than scaling the preview, so thin dashed lines and tiny place names remain crisp on matte photo paper or textured cotton stock.
