The night-sky tools compute the geometric positions of stars, planets and the Moon using standard astronomical formulas and a measured star catalog. That answers a precise question — "what was above the horizon, in theory, at this longitude and latitude at this clock time?" — but geometric accuracy does not equal what was actually visible on the night. Real observation depends on the weather: clouds, haze, fog and storm fronts may have hidden the sky entirely. It depends on light pollution: near a city center, all but the brightest stars are washed out by streetlights, buildings and the sky glow, even on a perfectly clear night. And it depends strongly on the Moon: a bright gibbous or full Moon floods the sky and erases faint constellations, while a thin crescent leaves the Milky Way visible. Twilight, season, trees, buildings and elevation of the horizon all matter as well. A star map poster is therefore an accurate chart of the sky of that moment, not a photograph of what any one person could see, and it should not be used for observational astronomy, navigation or legal proof.
The downloaded PNG is redrawn at 300 DPI at your chosen size, which makes it genuinely print-ready, but the physical result depends on your own chain: the monitor calibration you preview on, the print shop or home printer, its profile and ink limits, and above all the paper and other consumables. Plain copy paper will not deliver the deep blacks that matte photo paper or dedicated poster stock can; different inks shift the warm tones, and large-format printers can scale or crop a file unless scaling is set to 100%.
