Memory Poster Studio began with a familiar problem: the most important moments of a life — the night someone was born, an anniversary, a promise made under a particular sky — deserve more than a generic graphic printed with random dots. Too many keepsake shops sell "star maps" that are only decorative, hide the science behind a paywall, or ask you to upload private names and dates to a stranger's server. We thought that was the wrong way to treat a memory, so we built the opposite: a small workshop of precise, printable tools that run quietly in the browser you already trust.
What started as one star map calculator grew into a collection of twenty-four tools spanning five families: night-sky astronomy posters, baby and family keepsakes, coordinate and route map art, words-and-quotes layouts, and print and image utilities. Every one of them follows the same small set of promises.
Our mission is simple: turn important moments into printable keepsakes. A keepsake should be faithful to the moment it remembers — the actual sky over the actual city at the actual hour — and it should be yours. That means the date you enter, the name you typeset and the photo you arrange never have to leave your computer to become a 300 DPI file ready for a frame. We believe accuracy and privacy are not premium features; they are the baseline of anything that claims to preserve a memory.
Real astronomical algorithms. The sky tools are built on standard formulas from astronomical practice — Julian Day conversion, Meeus sidereal-time equations, hour-angle and altitude–azimuth transforms, lunar phase geometry and solar position. We implement the math ourselves in plain JavaScript instead of trusting decorative clip art, and we document how each formula is used so the result is auditable rather than mysterious.
Public star catalogs, embedded in the page. Star positions come from public catalogs such as ATHYG v3.2, with measured right ascension, declination and magnitude. The data ships with the site; nothing about your chosen night is fetched from elsewhere.
Zero APIs. No geocoding API, no weather API, no image API, no login API. There is no quota to exhaust, no key to pay for, and no third party receiving the date or place of a birth, a proposal or a farewell. The tools work even where the connection is slow or metered, and they keep working if a remote service disappears.
300 DPI, print-ready output. The on-screen preview is deliberately lightweight; when you download, the artwork is redrawn from scratch at 300 dots per inch in your exact chosen size — from A4 and A3 up to 24×36 inches and a 12-inch square — with vectors and text repainted at print resolution so nothing turns soft or pixelated when enlarged.
Free and watermark-free, for good. Every tool is free today, and the file you export carries no watermark, no trial stamp and no hidden lock. We are supported by optional advertising space reserved on the pages, never by degrading your download.
Pro is coming soon. A Pro tier with extra themes, larger composition options and batch features is on the way. When it arrives it will add capabilities; it will never remove the free, private, watermark-free core described here.
We are a small, independent team — designers and developers who like ephemeris math, typography and dark-framed walls. Being small is part of the product: we can keep the site static, the data honest and the privacy story short because there really is no backend database to mine. We answer our own email, read every bug report about a misplaced constellation, and treat a poster that will hang above a crib with the same seriousness as a gallery commission.
Suggestions, corrections to a city coordinate, a missing language string, or a story about where a poster ended up — all of these make the studio better. Visit the contact page or write directly to zjp133@outlook.com; we read everything and reply as fast as a small team can.
